SIMPLEWOOD FEATURE : LIFE/CULTURE
How mant times have you heard this before.... lots im sure,well despite the fact that i no longer do any real drugs mushrooms not inc the above statement is true.
Let me explain:
Three years ago when i was just getting into skating I got a job on Broadstairs beach,now this was a great job but the hours were horrendus seven days a week 12-13 hours a day so very little time for skating.
After about 6 weeks i had loads of money and nowt to spend it on exept alcohol and drugs,oh dear. I tried everything except extasy and heroin I even took perscription based drugs like ketamin, from here on with no word of a lie it sort of becomes hazy but I do know that I didnt skate and I lost all motivation to do any thing except more drugs.
Eventually i regained control of my life and stopped the drugs altogether and when that happened i wanted to skate...but guess what? I couldn't do it, it was foreign to me for another six months till my head finally sorted itself out.
Nowdays im fine and have control over my drug use(very little)and my alcohol use(sociality based drinking).I guess that the moral of this ordeal is that if someone turns down some of your reefer dont critcise them just remeber for the next time.
Im not trying to be overly mormonistic about this and I dont want to tell others what to do but just be aware that drugs are addictive even though my experience is rare it does happen

Three guys got expelled last week for drugs and today I had a massive argument at lunch with a known dealer (also a triple-award scientist) trying to convince him that drugs do damage you alot more than people on the streets think. People try to convince themselves that it will never happen to them. People say Marijuana has no effect on the streets, but is proven to cause slight mental disabilities (like the dumbing down of the ability to learn, vital in skating) and in some cases, severe schizophrenia. Some smoke it with tobacco, and as spliffs have no filter, it does 5 times the damage as a fag. True. Don't do drugs, it's not cool.
